Shane Moeykens has worked as the Director of Maine EPSCoR since 2015. He joined Maine EPSCoR after serving in the alliances and partnerships area in the engineering software sector for more than 10 years, where he oversaw a $50 million IP portfolio and contributed to B2B (business to business) business development strategies and M&A (mergers and acquisition). Overall, Shane has 23 years of industrial experience, and his career included time in the power, environmental, and HVAC sectors. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University, and later went on to complete an MBA degree at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
In his role as the Director of Maine EPSCoR, he is based at the University of Maine and works across all federal EPSCoR programs with a statewide focus. Federal EPSCoR programs aim to build research capacity and grow the STEM workforce in a jurisdiction. To advance these goals in Maine, Shane often serves as a bridge between academia, government, and NGOs, recognizing that a community of players is necessary to realize impactful change.
