Biography

Stephen Parker is Vice President of Public Affairs at gener8tor, a venture funder and network of startup accelerators that creates opportunities and public-private partnerships for music, arts, workers and entrepreneurs across the nation. Parker leads gener8tor’s media and external relations, while spearheading efforts to invest in artists and musicians.

Prior to gener8tor, Parker directed intergovernmental and congressional affairs at the National Governors Association. He served as liaison between governors and the federal government and led education, labor, economic development, and workforce policy development. Parker also previously served as Senior Special Assistant to Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine and Senior Policy Advisor to the Adjutant General of the Virginia National Guard.

Parker serves on the Country Music Association (CMA) Foundation Board, the Hopkins House Preschool Academy Board of Trustees, and on the Yale University State and Local Policy Review Board of Advisors. He is a proud advocate for music in communities and schools.

Parker received an associate’s degree from Southside Virginia Community College, a bachelor’s degree from Longwood University, studied political leadership at the University of Virginia, and is a master’s degree candidate at Harvard University.
